Papiccio.com works with FB

Papiccio.com now Facebook ready!

Well it has taken a while but I have finally incorporated the Blog and the Photo section from my site into Facebook (everybody’s favourite social network site).

I am now publishing this out to the wider community. The Papiccio.com web site is now open for the extended family (and I do mean extended). With the new interface into Facebook I really hope the interest in it will be better.

For those in my family (close or extended) that register with the site, they will automatically get access to the Blog area to begin posting straight away and they will be given a photo album area that they can use to load pictures should they choose to do so.

Even if you’re not related please feel free to visit the site to get some updates on what is going on.

First Post on the new Papiccio.com Blog Site

Welcome to the new look and feel Papiccio.com blog site.

What is different about this site?

Well the first thing is that it is a different site. It is in fact a completely different Content Management System and resides on a different database. That is why you are prompted with a new login here. I have not integrated the two sites for the time being because I want to see whether this actually works well. If it does then I might invest in the money to merge the sites together.

What are some of the new features?

Well it uses Word Press which is designed primarily for blogging. This means that the experience is easier and more intuitive than the previous version of the blog section. It also has the distinct advantage of being able to create your posts in a word editor of your choice, in my Case Word 2010 from Microsoft, and publish directly to your blog.

It has a much nicer photo gallery option for posting pictures a well. I am maintaining my primary photo gallery but sometimes you just want to post a blog with some pictures in it. Now you can do it nicely.

You will have noticed the random header images as well. These are all photos taken by Jemma and I intend on using them on this site as a way to show case some of the really nice pictures she takes.

The site is fully integrated with Facebook so posts here can be made live through your Facebook profile.

Well that’s enough for a first post, you get the idea. I hope that people enjoy this version of the Papiccio Blogs.
