Peech and Gilly

Last week my Sister-in-Law Jodie launched her very first iBook on the apple store. It is a childrens book that is fun to read with beautiful illustrations that also teaches.
The book follows the adventures of Peech and Gilly as they learn and play. It also has some interactive games at the end which is an ideal learning tool for kids.
The name Peech comes from the nick name shared by my brothers and I as we went through school (those of you who went to school with us will no doubt remember).
What a catch!
Is available for iPad on the Apple store. If you are looking for beginners book to share with your kids then I can recommended none better.

The roof! The roof! The roof is on…. Well on actually

Another major milestone achieved! Yesterday the roof (or 95%) finally went on our new house!
Yes we are now one step closer to a finished product. The roof going up has changed the whole dimension of the house. As soon as the capping is finished they have plasters on stand-by to start the internal work.
Here are some photos of the place now.
Update on house progress

This week we saw the roof beams start to take shape. Everyday I drove past more and more work had been done. We now have a pretty good idea of what the roof is going to look like. The structure for the veranda’s have also been put in place and the alfresco is looking really good.
It looks like we are on track to get the roof on before the wet season starts.
Virtual Walk Through 1 – New House
As promised here is a virtual walk through of our new house as it is today.
Internal Walls All done!
This gallery contains 14 photos.
These past couple of weeks has seen a huge amount of work done on the house.
On Friday the brickies were working on the internal walls and had completed most of them. There was enough rubbish left lying around that on Saturday the plan was to rig a make shift path of plancks to get me to the house to have a look inside. By the time we got there on Saturday afternoon the workers had cleaned up and left the place looking neat with no rubbish for me to use to get to the house! Who would have thought it?
Anyway, here are some photos of the inside of the house. I have a walk through video on it’s way soon as well.

House Progress Report
It’s late so I want dribble on like I usually do. Here are some photos from tonights activity on the new house.
It’s just another brick in the Wall!
Oh yes. The bricks were delivered more than a week ago. The builders could not start last week because of the heat, bless them. They may have burnt their fingers on the hot bricks ![]()
But seriously they started this week and within a couple of days the outlines of a house has started to appear! It is terribley exciting. Everyday a bit more has changed. Here are some photos of yesterdays efforts
Pad Down!
Well things are starting to ramp up big time. Just the other day I posted on how the block was prepared for the Pad. Yesterday we saw the concrete for the footing go down and today we have the Pad itself down. We are offically at “Slab Down”.

New House Progress

Well the new year has started and we have some progress finally on the new house. Last week we took a random drive by the block to see that they had begun moving the sand into the shape of the pad. We were then also called by Dale Alcock to advise that the footing was going down on the 14-01-2013 and that the concrete is due to be laid a few days after that. As you can imagine after more than two years of waiting it is very exciting to see progress being made.
Here are som photos of the block on our first drive by last week.
A few days later we took another quick drive by to see that the pipes and the peggings had also been laid out and that it is truly now taking shape.
Happy New Year
Well here is the first post for 2013. First Happy New Year to you all.
The Christmas period has been very busy and while I have been on holidays I just have not had time to get around to a post. Here is a quick one however because I just had to
Alex (and the rest of us) got an AR Drone 2.0 for Christmas. This is a Quadracoptor, i.e. a four bladed helicopter. It is controlled from an Iphone/Ipod/Ipad or Android device and it sports a HD camera as well. I have included a couple of videos of our first flights.
